San Francisco Advice

I'm planning a family girls trip to San Francisco and wanted to see if anyone had any special advice on fun things to do there. We know we want to go to Alcatraz for sure, but other than that we have no definite plans. Are there any "must see" places that we should go?? What are some of your favorite things to do there??? Let me know!!

Find a farmers market, I think they are on thursdays and saturdays/sundays and go to it. You will find the best things there, plus the best food for breakfast/lunch! Also, you have to eat at Boudins Bakery - Clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl and an almond crossant with Ghirardelli hot chocolate. Yummy!

Lombard street, Union Square, Little Italy(also known as North Beach) - to eat of course - it's great for the ego! China Town, go see a show, any show, there's nothing like Broadway in a big city. I could go on and on...can you tell I love San Fran!

Another place that is fun to visit is the Aquarium on the pier. It is underground. You take an elevator down to get to it and then walk through tunels and see sharks, octopi, etc. swimming all around you. It is probably more fun to go as a family with kids, but I've got to say I really enjoyed it too. It is my favorite aquarium thus far!

I second the Ghirardelli chocolate and the taking in a show. Both are a must!

well I'm glad I'm your sister.
This sounds like so much fun. I've really started to like Sushi lately and I heard there is a Sushi place called No Name Sushi. My friend said it was the best sushi ever, so I think we should try it. Let me know what you think!!
