Our Sleepy Boy

Well, we finally got a splint put on Kyle's leg. The orthopedic surgeon couldn't take him till Tuesday, so we're waiting till then to get the cast put on. It's been two days now, and Kyle is starting to understand that he can't get around like he is used to. Yesterday he would just lay around crying because he'd try and crawl or move around, and then he would hold his leg and say "Oweeeee!!" It was really sad. Today he is doing better. As you can see from the picture he is definetely more tired. He hasn't been sleeping as well with the leg, and wakes up every couple of hours crying in pain. If I'm right there with him, he calms down and goes back to sleep. The first night was bad because we kept having to go in his room to help him. Finally, last night was better because I just slept in his room next to him, and he did much better.

This experience has really made me grateful for the health our family has. This is sad, but it's just a broken leg, and his bone will heal. I was carrying him around thinking how hard it would be if it was a permanent thing and he couldn't ever walk. I'm so grateful for my healthy kids!!

Kyle's Broken Leg

Here's a short video from our San Diego trip. Thanks Dave for putting it together. I planned on posting more, but at 3 pm today, Kyle broke his leg. He was jumping on the trampoline with his sister, Jessica, and fell down and somehow broke his leg. We're waiting till tomorrow to hear from the orthopedic surgeon and hopefully we'll get a cast on soon, if they need to cast it. Poor guy is so sad. For those of you who know him, he's our active one. He keeps trying to get up and walk, and realizes he can't. He's a trooper and I hope the pain goes away soon. It's no fun seeing your kids in pain!!!!

My blog will get better, I hope.....

Yea!! It worked. So, I decided to post this fun picture, also from our San Diego trip. The beach house we rented came with a small sail boat. Dave loved sailing around Mission Bay with the kids. They thought it was so cool. Well, I've been checking all the cute blogs that everyone has, and I'm a little apprehensive about sharing mine with you all. Just remember that I'm just learning all this, and I'm a BEGINNER!!! I will hopefully get better, and might need a little teaching from you "advanced" bloggers. So, let me know if you have any great tips. Now that I'm joining the world of "blogging", I look forward to posting and chatting along with all of you.

Family Beach Picture

Well, I've been trying to post a picture, and I don't know why it hasn't been working. My brother suggested I try doing in through Picasa so I'm giving it a shot. I hope it works. This is our family picture from this summer when we went to San Diego. We stayed at a beach house with my sister Denise, her husband Ben, and their two kids. It was so much fun. The kids loved it. I even attempted surfing, although Dave informed me that it's not supposed to be done on your knees :) Oh well, it was still fun. Well, let's see if this works......

And lastley, I am excited to use this as my new way of journaling/scrapbooking for posterity sake. I'm excited to begin, so here goes................
