Well, I haven't posted for a while, and realized lots of others took some time off, too. I think it was the fall break that threw me off. The kids were home and we got to "hang out" together. We had a great time. The first two days, we just hung out at home and the kids had a great time just playing together. Jessica said "I love fall break. I wish it was fall break all year!" I think when you're in school every day, it's nice to just relax and play. Then Thursday we spent the morning at the Science Center. (great place if you haven't been...) After that we headed to the mall with our Build-a-bear animals, and got some new clothes for them with the $ the girls had earned from helping babysit. Of course the kids loved that, and I loved that since we already had the animals from a previous birthday trip, it didn't break my bank!! We then went to Claire's to "window shop" and found a couple of fun "trinkets" there. The girls kept saying it was the best day ever. I was glad they were having such a nice day since we were supposed to go to the ward camp out that night, but ended up waiting till the next day so Dave could go to the Diamondbacks game. (poor Diamondbacks, maybe next year :) So since the day was so fun for them, the kids were fine going to the camp out on Friday. We had a great time at the camp out, and the kids loved playing with all the other kids. (I think we should do the next camp out at the beach...My favorite place to camp!!) So, all and all, we had a great fall break, and we didn't even have to leave the state to have all that fun.
Well, the reason I named this post "painful eye" is because yesterday morning Kelsey was playing with my face, and accidentally scratched me in the eye. It hurt so bad. Of course I thought it was just a little poke, and would feel fine in just a minute, but it kept on hurting, BAD!!! The pain would not go away. I was a little nervous by the afternoon, so I went to the optometrist and had him take a look. Sure enough there was a big scratch on the cornea. (If you have ever had this, you will understand how painful it is!!) He gave me some antibiotic drops to prevent secondary infection, and gave me a drop to dilate my pupil to help relax the muscles so it wouldn't be so painful, but it hurt so bad the rest of the day. He told me I'd feel much better the next day, because cornea's heal very quickly. Sure enough, I woke up this morning and it felt soooo much better. (Thank goodness!!) So, I am glad it didn't last too long, and hope to not have to experience that again. Needless to say, I clipped Kelsey's nails this morning, and will definitely remember to keep them short!!!

You should have gotten a cool eye patch to wear! Your boys would have loved that. Glad the eye is better. We should go to the science center again. I finally got a pass!
Glad that you had a fun fall break. We've never been to the science center. I think driving to Phoenix by myself makes me nervous. I think it would be fun to get a group together to go sometime.
Ouch! That sounds so painful! I'm glad your eye healed quickly. What a fun fall break. I've started to realize that some of the best times are just hanging around at home.
sounds like a GREAT fall break. Sorry about your eye, but glad you are feeling better.
Ouch! SOrry about the eye. Was that you on my blog about going on a mission? IF so,I totally felt like a missionary. If not, I still totally felt like a missionary! :-0)
so sorry about the eye...not fun...sounds like we should've come to your house for fall break...ours was a bit tricky at times!
Oh my gosh Lori!! The eye thing sounds both really painful, and before you saw the doctor, really scary!!! I'm glad that everything turned out okay...and that's good to know that a scratch on your cornea doesn't mean you're going blind!! Glad you enjoyed your fall break!
I had no idea such a cute little baby could do such damage! Call me next time and I'll bring you dinner!
