52 Blessings #7

This week I am thankful for Good Neighbors.  On Saturday, Dave and I decided to paint Jessica's room.  Her room is the only room in the house we still hadn't painted since we moved in.  She still had white walls, and desperately needed new paint.  She wanted a "High School Musical" room, so a few weeks ago we had gotten some new bedding, pillow, and poster.  We brought the blanket in the paint store and matched the color of pink and blue.  So Dave and I started painting around 3 pm (we couldn't start sooner since we had a couple of basketball games) and around 5 pm our neighbor saw us through the front window painting her room.  He likes to paint, and is great at it, and peeked in and said he could help.  His name is Dave, and he's a fireman, and he's always helping us with whatever we need.  We love him and his family. They are the best neighbors!  At Christmas time, when we were in California for New Years, he surprised us and took down our Christmas lights for us.  We came back and they were sitting on our back patio table!!  What a guy!!  So he changed into some painting clothes and came over for a couple of hours.  It was so nice of him, and we especially appreciated what a good "cutter" he is.  We ended up doing this checkerboard squares on one wall, and he cut the lines without taping or anything.  He's good.  He stayed for about 2 hours, and the room was done by 7:30. 

Jessica LOVES her new room.  It is quite a change from the white walls, and it's nice to see all the color in her room.  Now Ashley wants her room done.  She wanted to do it tomorrow, since it's a holiday, but we told her we needed a little break.  So hopefully in the next couple of weeks we can get hers done, too.  And of course our wonderful neighbor Dave said he would come help with hers, too.  I am so thankful for good neighbors!!!!!  (And thanks to his wife Julie for letting us borrow him for a couple of hours. :)
